Overview
Detail King LP's Advanced Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating Certification Class is a 2-day Class and our next class is on January 16th & 17th, 2025. Students will learn and perform various wet sanding techniques, perform paint correction on multiple vehicles with different clear coat systems, and become certified Jade Installers. Most of the training will be hands-on in our training facility, however there will be some classroom instruction regarding the science behind the coatings, along with how to upsell and cross-sell these services.

Curriculum
Hands-On Training:
- Polisher selection and training on multiple polisher types with various polisher movements (orbital, long-throw, forced rotation, etc.)
- Spot testing on panels to see differences in correction between sanding, compounding, polishing, and waxing
- Hand sanding in spots with a sanding block on deep imperfections
- Polisher sanding of spots sanded by hand to blend with surrounding areas
- Polisher sanding of complete panels for extreme correction and practice
- Paint correction using various compounds on multiple paint finishes to remove heavy imperfections in the paint
- Polishing using various polishes on multiple paint finishes to refine surface and get paint ready for protection
- Cleaning and prep steps to prepare the surfaces to be coated and ensure that all oils and dust have been removed
- Application process for silica and graphene coatings (paint, trim, glass, wheels, tires, interior)
- How to fix mistakes during application process
- How to perform follow-up washing and maintenance services
Classroom Training:
- What are ceramic coatings are and how do they work
- Hardness ratings and meaning
- How to sell ceramic coating services with features and benefits
- Items needed and necessary prep work
- How to formulate pricing and estimates
- Educating customers and upselling techniques
- Maintenance plans to offer customers
- Realistic expectations of ceramic protection and misconceptions

This course will cover in-depth paint correction techniques including wet sanding by hand, wet sanding with a polisher, compounding, polishing, and fine finishing on multiple paint types/systems. Students will also learn how to prep vehicles for ceramic coating application, as well as how to apply ceramic co paint, trim, glass, wheels, interior, etc. Students will learn the science behind ceramic coatings, how to sell them, how to price jobs, etc.

Paint correction experience will help, but is not required.

Students will be certified to install Jade Ceramic Coatings upon completion of this course and will receive a certificate stating that they are a Jade Certified Installer.
