Detail King offers a large selection of auto detailing water tanks for mobile car wash services, from 60 Gallon Low Profile  Water Tanks to 100 Gallon Auto Detailing Tanks, and all the way up to 330 Gallon Car Washing Tanks. Our tanks are constructed of linear polyethylene resin, compliant with U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations 21 CFR 177.1520 (C) 3.1 and 3.2. Our water tanks include molded slots for tie-down straps, ideal for securing the tank to the floor of pick-up trucks and trailers. Our mobile detailing tanks are also UV stabilized for outdoor storage. Why is UV protection important? Sunlight can cause algae growth inside your tank, which will flow into the pump and make for a less-than-clean detail and cause pump issues over time.

What Size Tank Do I Need?

Keep in mind that detailing jobs include more than just a car wash, and much of your time will be spent on tasks like interior cleaning, buffing and waxing. Odds are, a 60-gallon or 100-gallon water tank will get you through the day just fine, especially if you are a 1-man operation and at least until your business takes off!

Need a little more perspective? Water weighs 8.34lbs per gallon, which means our 330-gallon tank weighs over 2,700lbs in water alone. Hauling that around in your work vehicle means you pay more for gas, and you need a vehicle that is capable of supporting and transporting that weight.

If you’re running a business that mainly performs car washes or fleet washes, though, a 200-gallon water tank or a 330-gallon water tank may be the right choice. You may also want to look into deionized water tanks or a reverse osmosis system to eliminate the drying step. For a mobile detailer who focuses on true car detailing services, a 60 or 90-gallon tank will typically suffice.
