Thermax DV12 Hot Water Extractor
-
The Thermax DV12 Hot Water Extractor comes with a 3-year replacement parts warranty and is an industry leader when it comes to car interior cleaning. The DV12 is built to endure the most demanding interior extraction work, breaking down ground-in dirt, grease, grime, and even stale odors and pet odors that lighter machines leave behind. It pairs an 1,800-watt submersible heater with an 11-gallon stainless solution tank, so a high-volume shop can run interior after interior without babysitting the fill level or the temperature.
Highlight specs:
- 1,800-watt submersible heating system, 175 degree maximum
- 11-gallon stainless steel solution tank
- 12-gallon recovery tank with automatic overflow shut-off
- 100 PSI high-efficiency demand solution pump
- 165” water lift, two-stage vacuum motor
- 99 lbs, 34”L x 18.5”W x 35.5”H, single 15-amp circuit
Pair it with our Chemical & Maintenance Deluxe Kit, which bundles the upholstery and carpet chemistry with the maintainers that keep the extractor running at full efficiency.
Please note: the DV12 ships as a preorder with an approximate 2-week lead time, and this item is not eligible for any discount or free shipping offer.
Workflow Fit
The DV12 is the machine for a fixed high-volume bay, not a mobile route. Its 11-gallon solution and 12-gallon recovery tanks are more than double the capacity of a typical van extractor, so a shop can push through back-to-back interiors, heavily soiled fleet vehicles, and pet-accident recovery jobs with far fewer refill-and-dump stops. That capacity comes with weight (99 lbs) and a fixed footprint, which is exactly what a stationary detail bay wants for stability and uptime.
If you need to load the machine into a van instead of parking it in a bay, the Mytee HP90 Stingray is the mobile-ready alternative: dual 5-gallon tanks and a 65-lb single-cord chassis that a solo operator can carry to the vehicle.
If the DV12’s capacity is more than your volume calls for, the Thermax CP5 is the smaller 5-gallon unit in the same family, and the Mytee S-300H Tempo is a heated spotter for single-stain touch-ups between full interior jobs.
On heavy-soil work (service vehicles, smoker interiors, pet accidents), pre-treat with a dedicated extractor soap, let it dwell, agitate with a brush, then extract with hot water for maximum residue lift. For the machine’s long-term health, run plain water through it and apply chemical separately, and descale on a regular cadence with the Chemical & Maintenance Deluxe Kit.

The stainless steel solution tank is hygienic and will not corrode the way a poly reservoir eventually does. When the recovery tank fills, the automatic overflow shut-off protects the motor instead of letting it flood, and the waste-gate empty system dumps the tank cleanly at the end of a job. The housing is high-impact and chemical resistant, with a conditional lifetime warranty. The 20' Hide-A-Hose runs the solution line inside the vacuum hose, so the heated line stays away from the operator's skin, and it comes with a built-on stainless steel detailer carpet and upholstery tool.

Yes, for set-in stains and odors. The DV12's 1,800-watt heater brings solution up to 175 degrees, which dissolves grease, ground-in grime, coffee, food spills, and pet residue that cold water only spreads around. Heat is what lets a shop fully clean interiors other detailers can't and charge accordingly.
-
High-volume shops favor heated, high-capacity machines like the Thermax DV12. Its 11-gallon solution and 12-gallon recovery tanks let a busy bay run interiors back to back without constant refills. Mobile detailers more often run the van-loadable Mytee HP90 Stingray instead.

Yes. The DV12 ships with a 3" stainless steel upholstery tool on its 20' Hide-A-Hose, sized for seats, floor mats, door panels, and carpet alike. Its hot solution and 165" water lift dissolve and pull residue out of both, then leave them damp rather than soaked for a faster dry.
-
An extractor pushes hot water into carpet and upholstery and pulls it straight back out, dirt and all, which is what deep cleaning means. A steamer boils water into vapor for surface work: useful across many materials, but it never flushes the fibers.
-
For best results, do not put chemical inside the extractor, though you can. Chemical means every trigger pull adds soap and never rinses it, so carpet dries stiff, sticky, and attracts dirt. Apply soap separately with a spray bottle and run plain water to rinse. It also forces more frequent descaling.
