- Long-throw allows users to cover large surfaces quickly. The Rupes LHR 21 Mark III features a wide-range 21 mm orbit pattern that allows for powerful and fast paint correction while being gentle on surfaces. The backing plate and polishing pad oscillate to imitate the motion of hand waxing.
- Adjust your polisher speed quickly and fluidly. The electronic speed control dial can be adjusted with your thumb so you don’t have to stop polishing to switch speeds. You can find the perfect speed for each job while maintaining a deliberate, fluid motion.
- A progressive trigger allows for subtle adjustments within the dial range. For further precision and adjustment, the Rupes LHR 21 Mark III has a progressive trigger that acts as a throttle to operate within the selected speed range without having to interrupt polishing.
- Advanced ergonomics maximize comfort and control. The front and rear grip of the Rupes LHR 21 Mark III are rubberized for non-slip control that adds extra comfort and stability. Tool rests on the top of the polisher provide stability for when the polisher is not in use.
- Great for use on temperature-sensitive paint. The dual-action oscillation of the Rupes LHR 21 Mark III makes it an ideal candidate for use on painted surfaces that are vulnerable to heat-related damage. It produces far less heat than a rotary polisher while still producing a high-quality, swirl-free finish!

What size is the backing plate and can I switch to other size backing plates on this machine?

This comes standard with a 6”/150mm backing plate and Rupes does not recommend changing to other sizes of backing plates. This tool is specifically balanced for the backing plate that it comes with, and the pads that they have designed for it so for optimal performance as well as longevity of the tool components, changing to a different size the backing plate is not recommended.
What size pads should I use with this machine?

This machine is designed for pads with a backing diameter (Velcro) of roughly 6”. The face of the pad can vary depending on the pad but the back of the pad should be roughly 6”. Rupes Foam pads for this machine are 7”/180mm on the face and 6”/150mm on the back Rupes Wool pads for this machine are 6.75”/170mm on the face and 6”/150mm on the back Rupes Microfiber pads are 6.3”/160mm on the face and the back
What is the difference between the ES and MarkIII model polishers?

The ES models were the first and original version of all of the rupes machines. The MARKIII is the 3rd generation of their polishers. There are several improvements over the ES models that the MARKIII versions have such as improved power (30% more efficient motor) for increased correction ability, refinements in the balancing system for smoother operation and improved user comfort, several ergonomic enhancements for additional comfort, a progressive trigger, etc.

What is the best set up for buffing black?

Best Answer: Depending on the clear coat being Harder or on the Softer side the yellow wool pad is a good middle ground for correction/ finish. The LHR 21 would work best for larger panels with flatter contours. I personally choose the LHR15 as my main polisher & the LHR21 large flat panels on my Sapphire Black Metallic M5 that has a Hard Clear coat for light defects. Also works well on my softer clear on my Wicked White Evo VIII.
