    What if I have Grey trim but want Black. Will this work?

    Best Answer: It very well could work, you may have a apply a few coats, one at a time, let dry and reapply. Keep in mind it IS NOT intended to change the color but we have seen it both work effectively and not effectively.

    I have tried other products that later when it rained they washed down onto my paint. will this product run?

    Best Answer: Aloha! I live in Hawaii where I get 140 to 160 inches of rain a year. I can say unequivocally, this product does not run when it rains after it dries (very quickly). I have used it on my Jeep Wrangler and Tacoma TRD off road fenders. Hope this helps

    Best Answer: Yes. Half a bottle. Use a foam roller and small paint pan. Apply two coats a year. Stuff slowly washes away

    Best Answer: Hi, I wouldn't advise that. I brought a pack of foam applicators,and after every use I tossed it. Hope that helps you.

    Best Answer: It dry's a matte finish then if you want some sheen to it you would apply our Revival Trim Restorer to keep it looking good.

    Can I use trim kote to restore my faded dashboards?

    Best Answer: It is a black dye and would work great on a black dash. May need extra coats to hide any streaks. My only issue is that is made for trim and may emit some VOCs that may be harmful.

    Best Answer: Hey, most jeeps I work on have a removable hard top and generally the once’s I work on have that top made of fiberglass. If it’s made of fiberglass than that’s a no go. What material?

    Can this be used on interior plastics such as center console and cup holders?

    Best Answer: I have only used this on the exterior vinyl areas, the product has a plastic dye coating and you have to be very careful when you apply the product. Note: to remove any smears I had too use a degreaser. Hope that helps

    We followed the directions provided on the website video. I love the product.
    It’s been a while but need to watch again to refresh my memory. I think we
    1. cleaned the trim with Rubbing alcohol.
    2. Taped off area with blue tape.
    3. Applied the black trim kote.
    4. Apply clear kote.
    This takes time but is worth it
    Nothing else works like this. Used it last summer. Will touch up again this summer

    Trim Kote to the Rescue
    Restoring a set of bucket seats for my Plymouth. The back covers are close to 55 years old. After an initial cleaning, then using Detail Kings Wipe Clean, I proceeded to use the Black Trim Kote. This product really brought life back into the covers. It conditioned years of fading, age, and neglect. DK's products never disappoint. Make sure your surface is clean clean first. Wear gloves! Allow it to dry as well. You won't be disappointed.

    What makes this product special is that it is not a coating or a dressing that will only last until the next car wash. It is essentially permanent and should last years. It’s very easy to apply and a little bit goes a long way! My Chevy Avalanche has a lot of plastic and I still have about half the product left. I may put a second coat but I haven’t decided yet.

    It works very well
    I have a 13 year old black dodge magnum that spent the last few years outside. On a scale of 1 to 10, this product took the trim from a 2 to a 7. I'd rate the car overall an 8, so it did a very good job of improving the look of the trim up to the level of the car. The trim used to stand out as an obvious flaw, now, about a month after treatment, it looks good from a distance.

    Better than most!
    I've used a lot of wipe-on trim restoration products on my '02 Volvo V70 XC (the one with huge plastic bumpers and trim). This one works well but it's a little difficult to use, hard to get a consistent finish over large areas. It also doesn't last as long as I thought it would. Didn't last through a Colorado winter. Might be better suited for smaller applications like the door handle in the video. Large areas are probably better served with a spray-on plastic paint vs. wipe-on dye. Not that rubbing alcohol can be used to erase mistakes!

    Looks good!
    I needed to restore the A/C covers on my 3 year old RV roof. This stuff got them black again, I don't know how long it will last, time will tell. But it works for this!

    Amazing black finish
    I used it for my 2003 Avalanche and it looks amazing. Wish I took pics to prove it. You may have to apply two applications some areas. Some advice, review your work in the sunlight/lighted area and different angles.

    Detail King Black Trim Kote is Awesome!
    I'm blown away by the results! The plastic trim on the bumper of my 2004 Nissan Frontier was so faded it was practically white. The Trim Kote restored it to a nice, smooth, consistent black. Now I need to find time to do the rest of the trim.
