Adhesive Remover
-
Detail King’s Adhesive Remover is a natural, citrus-based glue solvent that dissolves the adhesive left behind by tint, paint protection film, vinyl graphics, and most other adhesives. It is a maximum-strength solvent that lifts sticky residue quickly and safely, without the chlorinated or petroleum solvents found in harsher strippers.
Highlight specs:
- Citrus-based, natural solvent chemistry
- Maximum strength: dissolves adhesive in a fraction of the time
- No chlorinated or petroleum solvents
- Removes glue from tint, PPF, vinyl graphics, and 3M tape
- Works on a variety of surfaces
The “no chlorinated or petroleum solvents” line matters because those harsher solvents can haze trim, cloud fresh film, and leave a strong odor in a closed bay, while a citrus formula stays workable on mixed surfaces. For the film side of that job, our PPF pre-cut patterns cover the install.
Who this is for
- Tint shops cleaning up old film glue before a re-tint
- PPF and vinyl wrap installers clearing adhesive after a removal or a re-wrap
- Dealership recon and used-car detailers stripping dealer decals, lot stickers, and pinstripe gum
- Mobile detailers and enthusiasts dealing with badge residue, tape lines, and sticker leftovers
- Added Bonus: The chemical make-up of this product also makes it excellent for breaking down paint from exterior AND interior surfaces. *always test in an inconspicuous area for compatibility
When adhesive remover is the right call (and when it isn’t)
- Yes, use Adhesive Remover: glue and gum left behind after tint, PPF, vinyl graphics, 3M tape, decals, stickers, or pinstripes have been peeled off
- No, reach for a different chemical: if the mess is bug protein baked onto the front end, that is an enzyme job for Bug Remover, not a glue solvent. For general engine, wheel, and door-jamb grime, the Citrus Cleaner is the everyday degreaser
- No, you have passed the cleaner stage: if the surface under the adhesive is already scratched or hazed from someone digging at it with a blade, that is a paint correction job, not a solvent job

Spray a citrus-based adhesive remover onto a towel or straight onto the glue, let it break the tack, then wipe the residue away. Working the solvent instead of scraping is what protects the clear coat. Rinse or wipe with water afterward so no product is left on the panel.
-
No, this citrus-based solvent is made to lift glue, not attack paint, and it contains no chlorinated or petroleum solvents that tend to haze finishes. Apply it to the residue, let it dwell briefly, then wipe. Avoid scrubbing with anything abrasive, since the scratch risk comes from the tool, not the solvent.
-
Spray the adhesive remover onto the leftover gum and give it a few seconds to soften the glue, then wipe it off with a clean towel. Stubborn decal residue may need a second pass. Rinse the area with water when the gum is gone so the surface is left clean.
-
Apply the citrus solvent directly to the dried glue or 3M tape line and let it work, since it dissolves cured adhesive in a fraction of the time of scraping. Wipe the softened residue away, repeat on heavy buildup, then rinse. This is the same approach used to clear tint, PPF, and vinyl adhesive.
